What is Kiosk mode? What are the use cases of kiosk mode?

Kiosk mode is locking down a device to a specific app or a list of applications. If the device is in kiosk mode, only the permitted apps as per the policy will be visible to the user. The user will not be allowed to goto the home screen and use apps other than the permitted apps.

What are the use cases of kiosk mode?

1. Internet kiosks - Proving fast and easily accessible internet for public use.

2. Information kiosk - Providing information to users. Information related to shops or facilities available at a mall/shopping center.

3. Self service kiosk - Mainly used for paying bills, viewing bill information, deposits and withdrawal machines at banks, check-in machines at airports etc.

4. Advertisement/Feedback/Survey kiosks - Advertising products and collecting feedback from customers of a service in form of surveys etc.
