MSSQL Installation Fails :

After viewing summary.txt it is found that DOTNet2 failed to install

Resolution 1:

"Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine" was installed along-with  "dotnet 4 client profile".

"dotnet 4 client profile" is a trimmed down version of Dotnet and SQL 2005 does not support it.

It is not possible to install dotnet2 due to which it is imperative that the Installation will always fail.

Hence, it is recommended to uninstall dotnet4 and then restart the installation process.

Resolution 2:

Dotnet framework 1.1 was already installed and was faulty, due to which sql server fails to install.

Hence, it is recommended to uninstall dotnet framework, reboot the machine and restart the installation process.

Resolution 3:

User was not logged with Administrator rights, Summary.txt is showing Blank.

Hence it is recommended to Login with Administrator rights and then restart the installation process.
